Insulation

Reclaimed insulation is currently mainly offered by demolition contractors who salvage the material on their own sites, both from floors, roofs and cavity walls, and sometimes even from partition walls. The quantities offered vary but can sometimes be considerable.

However, insulation elements are usually very easy to recover and reuse, provided they are not contaminated. For questions concerning the preservation of the insulation value of insulation material, it can be tested in laboratories, or more insulation can be provided than strictly necessary.

The range consists of many different types of insulation, from soft insulation in blankets to hard insulation in sheet form. There is rock wool and PIR/PUR insulation, but also pressure-resistant XPS and EPS boards, sandwich panels and sound insulation. Demolition contractors offer all these types alternately, depending on what they find at their sites.
